What information Momentous collects, why, and the choices you have.

Who we are
Momentous (“we”, “us”) runs momentous-ai.com. If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email hello@momentous-ai.com.
What we collect
- Websites you ask us to check. When you run a free check, we keep the website, the brand name, topics and location you confirm, the searches, and the answers ChatGPT and Claude gave. Anyone you share your results link with can see the results.
- Your account. If you sign in, we keep your email address, when you last signed in, and which checks are yours, so you can see them from any device.
- Contact details you give us. If you email us or leave your email address, we keep it so we can reply or send what you asked for.
- Basic technical information. To stop abuse of the free check, we keep a one-way, salted hash of your IP address with each check, never the address itself. Like most websites, our hosting provider may also log your IP address and browser details to keep the site secure and working.
To suggest searches, we send your business’s name, website, topics and location to OpenAI. To answer the searches, we send each one to OpenAI for ChatGPT’s answer and, once you leave your email, to Anthropic for Claude’s.
We send emails, such as sign-in links and codes, through Postmark.
When you start a free check, we set a cookie: a random code that lets us find your check again and keep the free check to one per visitor. It says nothing about who you are, and expires after 30 days. When you sign in, we set another: a random code that keeps you signed in on that device for 30 days, until you sign out. This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Your browser also remembers, in its local storage, your theme if you choose one and the link to your free check’s results. These stay on your device.
How we use it
We use your information only to provide and improve Momentous, to reply to you, and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
Free check results are kept for 30 days, then deleted. If you left your email address with a check, we keep it, with the website you checked, until you ask us to delete it. We keep other information only as long as we need it for the reasons above, then delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct, export, or delete the information we hold about you, and to object to how we use it. To make a request, email hello@momentous-ai.com.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
